Appreciate Others Month

October is Appreciate Others Month

Think about all the people who have touched your life, who you appreciate, and are grateful to have encountered. When was the last time you told them you appreciated them? Well now is your chance!¬†Appreciation is one of the greatest gifts we can offer to others. For the month of October, let’s unite in committing to do one thing each day to appreciate others.

“Silent gratitude isn’t much use to anyone.”¬† ~ G.B. Stern

Need some ideas? How about offering the following to friends and family:

  • write a letter
  • make a phone call
  • send a post card
  • take them out for tea
  • invite them over to make dinner together
  • give them a random gift
  • send a quick email, tweet (#aom), or facebook message
  • take a trip to visit a friend
  • send someone an encouraging text message
  • contact an old friend with whom you haven’t spoken for years

It’s easy and fast! Spending only a few minutes to share your appreciation can make a big difference in someone’s life.

I am committing to typing on my typewriter a letter of appreciation each day this month and mailing it to a friend. I will also be focusing all of the blog posts this month on the topic of appreciating others.

“The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the grandest intention.”
~ Oscar Wilde
